The Soul Knows No Words
The soul recognizes love without proof.
A stranger city's beautiful, But somehow I can't feel it now. This day remains unfinished, And only time keeps pulling me along. I miss the light inside your smile, The brightest one I've ever known. I miss the warmth within your eyes, Your voice, your kindness, And the comfort of your hand. They'll say it's not love— Just habit, Or the fear of being alone. No... My soul has never learned The names that people give these things. It only knows what pulls it close, It only knows what feels like home. It doesn't need the theories That our restless minds invent. The soul knows where it belongs, It aches when something isn’t right. It cries when something’s not its own, And knows its own without a sign. And all this time I taught my soul: "Just tell me where. Just tell me who." So who am I to doubt it now When every answer leads to you? I didn't finish loving you today, Didn't finish writing what I feel. I couldn't read your eyes across the screen, Or understand what they revealed. Yesterday... Today... Tomorrow... This lesson isn't one I'll stay to learn alone. I'll leave before I have to, Into a world still half-awake— A world that isn't always kind, A world too hurried to relate. But my soul already knows the way, It quietly points me home, Leaving sadness at the roadside Like something I no longer own. Enough. I don't want another day Half-lived and half-understood. No more moments left unfinished, No more love held back for good. I only want to hold Your soul against my heart And simply say: I love you.
