Katerina
A name becomes the center of tenderness.
A spring has flowed in me since birth, I call it Sorrow, deep and blue. Beside its waters blooms a flower— I gave it Joy, a name that's true. Around it — sand and stones and earth, My Desires scattered far and wide. The air is clear, the breeze is soft— Sweet Fantasy that blows inside. And high above, a cloud drifts by, I call it Dream across my sky. And there the sun shines from above— Its endless light I call my Love. My soul comes here to sing its songs, My mind turns thoughts to poetry. Sometimes I wander deep inside— Let everyone come look for me. Sometimes a rain of sadness falls, Then mushroom happiness appears. The fields of wishes bloom so wild— I lose myself and disappear. Sometimes a hurricane of Fantasy Sweeps everything out of its way. It's hard to stand against the storm, And harder not to be its prey. Here Dream and Love together reign— That's how my inner world remains. And every atom, small and bright, Has "Katerina" there inscribed.
