Take a Step
The direction of movement can always be changed.
The rhythm of life is the ticking of clocks, Surrounded by thoughts of the brilliant and lost. I'm somewhere beside them — not distant, not near, Still thinking my way out of shackles of steel. We're driven by links in the neural-net chain, I'm hooked on the signals — I'm part of the same. But once I can see what I'm bound to and why, I can redirect every signal inside. To be free isn't gaining control or power, To be happy isn't reaching some goal. Freedom is stepping outside just to watch it, Happiness is choosing — and owing no reason at all. To be free isn't gaining control or power, To be happy isn't reaching some goal. Freedom is stepping outside just to watch it, Happiness is choosing — and owing no reason at all. We search for the meaning in all that we do, Reading kings and queens, every move they might choose. But I'm simply not there — I stepped out of the stream, Not following the current, but the logic of things. Reality shifts and keeps changing within, While outside it runs like a precise machine. Step out of the rhythm and simply observe How freedom fills every breath, every nerve.
