Theory
By the Call of the Heart
A living choice begins where the algorithm stops deciding for the human being.
More data — fewer thoughts remain, More speed — but narrower our gaze. Algorithms turn to gain, And line us up in useful ways. We optimize each process, Searching for the perfect choice, Fit ourselves into a template, Till the pattern kills the voice. Day by day, without us seeing, Everything around us shifts. And the cell — a child of progress — Seems to build itself from this. We've become part of the calculation, Barely noticing the change: Every search for something perfect Narrows down our choice again. When every error is eliminated, There'll be nothing left to choose. And the algorithms' perfection Will begin rebuilding us. When we choose a step from the heart, We leave our traces in the system. And all the paths across the earth Are found by those who are truly living. No need for secret agreements, No command behind a door. What to remove from the variables — The algorithm knows for sure. Probability rules today, And we ourselves become its base. Every cycle of calculation Makes the algorithm change. We call this evolution. We call this simply normal life. Never seeing how the cages We ourselves construct arise.
